This border is packed full of perennials. There are other gardens on the estate that contain shrubs, trees and evergreen plants but this is for the Summer and needs big and blousy.
In length its approx. 100m and at its widest is 10 metres so hundreds of plants were needed. It’s intended to look as though there wasn’t any specific planting plan as one plant flows into the other however this couldn’t be further from the truth. Heights, colours, texture, foliage and flowering periods were all taken into consideration and the whole border needed the soil improving.
